Our approach to AI
MeritHRMS uses AI to help you work faster — never to make decisions about your people behind your back. These principles govern every AI feature we ship.
Principles
- You stay in control. AI assists; a human makes the final decision on anything that affects an employee (pay, leave, discipline). Human-in-the-loop by default.
- Your data is not sold, and not used to train third-party AI models.
- Least data. AI features receive only the minimum data needed for the task, within your organisation’s isolation boundary.
- Transparency. Where content is AI-generated or AI-assisted, we make that clear.
- Accuracy & review. AI can be wrong. Outputs are for review, not auto-applied to records without confirmation, and are not legal or tax advice.
The AI we run today — MeritAI
MeritAI is our website assistant that answers questions about MeritHRMS (CPF, MOM, payroll, pricing) and helps you reach our team.
- Runs on our own website. MeritAI currently uses our own rule-based logic — it does not send your messages to any third-party AI model.
- What it collects: the messages you type, and any contact details you choose to submit (e.g., name, work email). We use these to respond and to follow up on your enquiry.
- Not sold, not used to train third-party models.
- General information only. MeritAI does not give legal or tax advice and does not make decisions about you; it points you to a human when needed.
What’s next
We plan to enhance MeritAI with AI language models via our own AI platform. Before we process your data through any AI model or subprocessor, we will update this page and our Privacy Policy and list the providers and their data-handling commitments.
Safeguards (product AI)
- Organisation isolation applies to AI features as to all data.
- AI features follow the same role-based permissions as the rest of MeritHRMS.
- Additional product AI features (e.g., payroll cost forecasting, executive briefings) are governed by the principles above; some are rolling out and will be listed here as they ship.
